I've been wanting to try shutter drag techniques i I've been wanting to try shutter drag techniques in the studio for at least a year having seen Lindsay Adler's gorgeous demo. Luckily I was able to find stunning model Ani Furmanski to go in on the experiment..error and trial until we were able to create art. Camera movements and zooms were the best; the outtakes (not shown) look like AI. Shutter drag can create extra hands and make skin look alien. Worked best to cover the model with a glittery outfit and move the camera. Also fun to play with the Fresnel modifier on the main light. #canonr6ii #fresnel #shutterdrag

It was really fun to try out the Fresnel modifier with the Profoto main light. It is somewhere between a hard and soft light. Earning himself a well-deserved jazz scholarship at the end of the year VC jazz concert, I was thankful that @evantindall was willing to squeeze a vibraphone into the studio to co create visual art more spectacular than I had envisioned. Evan is an in-demand drummer..you might see him playing out around Ventura; a rising talent. 4x5 camera adventure at Wildwood Canyon Falls at s 4x5 camera adventure at Wildwood Canyon Falls at sunset & moon rise for Photo 14 Analog on April 10th @venturacollegephoto pulling the heavy camera, tripod +digital gear & dinner on a rickety cart. Did the cart flip? Of course it did. It was Crossfit workout dragging it out of the canyon by moonlight. 14 min exposure at sunset + another 30 secs of moon rise after dinner with a shutter release cable. Id like to go back to this place with a lighter analog camera and a wider lens but the cotton candy falls were worthwhile. Thanks @moultondude for the inspiration ! It's a good thing I sped up the video...else the squirrel voice would be bitching quite a bit on the way out. Wildwood is ideal - year round water- east-west canyon where the moon is visible

Actually talented Moorpark College actor and theatre student Briana Gonzalez fully in character. I got to bring together the whole semester with a fantastic 9-light studio set up and we even tested out the 'smoke'! mn I've been wanting to shoot a portrait of a pilo mn I've been wanting to shoot a portrait of a pilot in flight...this was much more difficult than I thought it would be with radically dark and light areas through the windows and cockpit and the most cramped space possible. I could use a wider 'real estate' lens maybe (But I don't want the 'clown nose' effect) , more exposure bracketing and to have the pilot fly at certain angles to the the sunlight..it was sure fun trying this out..takeoffs , landings and 360s are fun roller coaster ride to me! Any pilots out there want a portrait? This pilot has been hard at work becoming an instructor and lands planes perfectly. Silly Instagram - I cant mix a landscape & portrait photos without it cropping weird. #pilotphotographer #the99s #womenpilots
